Request Items

HWF does not accept direct requests from families or individuals. Please discuss your situation with your social service provider or social worker and ask them to contact HWF. We are unable to respond to requests for support received here. Thank you for your understanding.

All requests for furniture must come from agencies or sponsors. To contact us, please fill one of the two forms below.

Once your completed form is received, we will contact you to obtain more detailed information and determine exactly what furniture and household goods are needed. We will schedule a time for you to pick up the items. Our volunteers will prepare and set aside furniture for you to pick up at the scheduled time, as well as help you to load it in to the transportation you bring to our storage unit. Based on our inventory, we will do our best to accommodate as many of your needs as possible. Due to our storage logistics, sponsors will not have access to the warehouse to choose items – your donation will be set aside for you before you arrive.

Who we help

Our main objective is to serve people who belong to the most vulnerable groups of the society. We receive numerous requests from social workers, sponsors, and others. To ensure that we can focus our time and resources on those most in need of our services, we prioritize those who:

  • have lost all or most of their possessions due to unforeseen circumstances;

  • do not have the means to furnish their home;

  • are not eligible for a moving allowance or able to access resources from other organizations;

  • lack support from family, friends or the community;

  • do not have the capacity to seek help on their own;

  • are at risk of homelessness;

  • require the full range of our services, including visitors, in-house delivery, and a follow up visit.
